Guests under 18 years old are not allowed to sleep in our shared dorms. When booking a private room, guests under 18 years old have to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian*... In other words, a piece of paper is not a parent.

*A legal guardian is a person who has been appointed by a court or otherwise has the legal authority (and the corresponding duty) to care for the personal and property interests of another person.

Our guest kitchen is reserved exclusively for solo travelers. Groups of 8+ guests or more cannot access the guest kitchen. It is possible to bring your own food in public areas of the hostel.

A fee for the self-service kitchen is #25# per person (for the entire stay/1-time fee).

No, unfortunately that is not possible. 

Max. length of stay is 14 consecutive nights.

For the comfort of all guests, pets are not allowed in public areas or rooms, unless it is a guide dog. If you wish to bring a guide dog, you must contact us before making a reservation.

Yes. We have dorms that can be booked by everyone, and we have dorms that are reserved for women only. Simply select "For All" or "For Women" when you make your reservation. 

Yes of course, but in order for us to do so you must contact us on reservations@steelhousecopenhagen.com once you have made the booking.

The pool costs #25# for 1 hour – go swim!

It costs #35# for the entire stay in the fitness room.

Yes, bed linen and towels are included in the price upon arrival. For reservations with six nights or more, we provide a complimentary linen change.

You can also choose to get a fresh towel for #25#. Renting extra linen costs #100# for beds in shared dorms and #150# for private rooms.

Yes. You can check-in yourself and go to your room at any time after 3PM. We also have staff present 24/7 to help.

Unfortunately that’s not possible; check in is from 3 pm. If you arrive early, we have lockers to store your luggage in the basement from #25# for 3 hours, #40# for 6 hours or #60# for 24 hours. Please keep in mind that we only take credit card payment for the lockers.

Friends & family of guests staying at Steel House Copenhagen are welcome in the bar and public areas, but not allowed to go to the dorms/rooms, pool, gym, cinema & self-service kitchen.  

You are welcome to bring your own food and enjoy it in the designated areas, but not in the rooms/dorms. Furthermore, you are not allowed to consume your own alcoholic beverages anywhere in the house so please get your drinks from the bar – we risk losing our alcohol license so please respect that. 

Please ask the staff if you want a late check out. We can’t guarantee a late check out, but we will do our best to help you out. Our prices for a late check out are:

Check out at 1 pm the latest: #100# per dorm bed and #200# for private rooms.

If we can’t let you check out late, we have lockers to rent from #25# for 3 hours in the basement. If you want to rent the locker for a longer period the price is #40# for 6 hours and #60# for 24 hours. Please keep in mind that we only take credit card payment for the lockers.

No, unfortunately that is not possible. Depending on your reservation your credit card will either be charged when you make your reservation or 48 hours before the arrival date. For more information please see our Terms and Conditions.

Sure you can! We have a self-service state of the art kitchen available to guests for #25#.

Yes, you can rent a bike for 24 hours for #130#.

Of course! Our Wi-Fi is super-fast, and available all over the house and free of charge.

Steel House Copenhagen is part of the Arp-Hansen Hotel Group. As a company, you can get a corporate agreement for all of our 12 hotels including our two hostels Steel House Copenhagen and Next House Copenhagen.

With a corporate agreement, you will get a direct booking link. When you click the link, you are automatically logged in to our website, where you can easily book your rooms with your discounted company rates. Yes. All of our rooms and dorms have a hairdryer. 

Yes, we have a self-service laundry room with both washing machines and dryers for #20# each. 

Yes. We provide lockers to rent from #25# for 3 hours in the basement. If you want to rent the locker for a longer period the price is #40# for 6 hours and #60# for 24 hours. Please keep in mind that we only take credit card payment for the lockers.

In the dorms, each guest has their own locker. We highly recommend that you keep all of your belongings locked up. Steel House Copenhagen is not responsible for any loss of valuables. You can use your own padlock to lock it. If you don’t have a padlock, you can buy one at the front desk. 

All bathrooms have a shampoo/shower gel dispenser by Nordic Ecolabel. 

We offer a breakfast bag from 6AM-10:30AM (or until the last bag is sold) for #59#.

If you have breakfast included you will of course be guaranteed your breakfast bag until 10:30AM.

Not in the mood for classic breakfast? No worries, we also sell a selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads and snacks at all times. 

Yes. All our rooms and dorms have a private bathroom. In our dorms, the bath and toilet is separated so you can use the toilet while someone is using the shower and vice versa. 

Steel House Copenhagen is your home away from home. But we do have some house rules that we ask our guests to respect. Read our house rules

If you have booked a flexible reservation, you can cancel up to 3 days before arrival. Here's how:

• Open your confirmation email and select "Manage reservation"
• Scroll down to "Cancellation" and choose "More info"
• Select "Cancel reservation" and confirm
  
  

If you booked through Hostelworld, Booking.com, or Expedia/Hotels.com, you must cancel directly with them.

If you wish to change the date of your booking, you will need to cancel your current booking and make a new reservation.

To make your check-in as quick and easy as possible, we’ve got a few different options for you:

First, we recommend filling out the registration form you’ll receive by email with your booking confirmation. Doing this ahead of time will make everything smoother when you arrive.

Two days before your stay, you’ll get another email with the option to check in online. If you complete it, you’ll be automatically checked in at 3PM on your arrival day – and your room key will be ready on your phone.

We also have self-service check-in kiosks if you prefer doing it on the spot. Just make sure to fill out that registration form in advance to save time.

And don’t worry – if anything feels confusing or something doesn’t work, just grab one of our staff members. We’re always happy to help!

It all depends who you are, and luckily there is something for everyone. At Steel House Copenhagen, you are within walking distance from many of the city's most popular attractions: Tycho Brahe Planetarium, Bremen Teater, Istedgade, Det Ny Teater, Wallmans Circus Building, Nordisk Film cinemas (Imperial and Palads), Tivoli's Concert Hall, Tivoli Gardens, The City Hall Square, the Meatpacking District (Kødbyen), Hard Rock Café and much more.

Other popular destinations include Langelinie with The Little Mermaid and then there is the Round Tower at Købmagergade, Amalienborg Palace, Strøget, Copenhagen Opera House, Copenhagen Zoo, the Royal Danish Theatre and Nyhavn. Copenhagen offers endless opportunities for sightseeing, and if you like guided tours, you should try a canal tour and the ever popular Hop on/Hop off buses.

We have standard European power sockets running on 220 V and are compatible with type C and F. Please bring your own adapter if you need one. All beds have their own power socket with an USB port available. 

Check in is from 3PM; check out is at 11AM the latest. Please ask the staff if you want a late check out. Charges apply. 

Steel House Copenhagen Parking:

Parking is not a problem at Steel House Copenhagen - with 60 parking spaces located just underneath the Hostel, parking is fast, safe and really easy to access. Upon arrival just ask the reception for instructions. Our parking is on a “first come, first serve” basis and cannot be booked in advance.

If you are booking beds in a dorm for more than one person, we can’t guarantee that you’ll be placed in the same room. If you want to be sure to stay in the same room, please book a private room. 

If you haven't received your booking confirmation via email, you should check your spam filter. If the confirmation isn't in the spam filter, you should contact the hostel as soon as possible.
