What are the rules of the house?
Steel House Copenhagen is your home away from home. But we do have some house rules that we ask our guests to respect. Read our house rules here.
How do I cancel or change my booking?
If you choose a non-flexible reservation it cannot be changed or refunded once it is made. Therefore, we recommend that you choose a flexible reservation, which allows you to change and cancel your reservation free of charge, right up until 11.59 pm two days before your arrival.
If you wish to change your flexible reservation made via our website, please make the change on Steel House Copenhagen's website. You are also welcome to contact us, but a fee of DKK 100,- per change will be charged.

Do you have WiFi?
Of course! Our WiFi is super-fast, and available all over the house and free of charge.
Do you offer corporate agreements?
Steel House Copenhagen is part of the Arp-Hansen Hotel Group. As a company, you can get a corporate agreement for all of our 12 hotels including Steel House Copenhagen. With a corporate agreement, you will get a direct booking link. When you click the link, you are automatically logged in to our website, where you can easily book your rooms with your discounted company rates.

Where can I park?
Steel House Copenhagen Parking:
Parking is not a problem at Steel House Copenhagen - with 60 parking spaces located just underneath the Hostel, parking is fast, safe and really easy to access. Upon arrival just ask the reception for instructions. Our parking is on a “first come, first serve” basis and cannot be booked in advance.

On-street parking - Steel house Copenhagen is located in the ´green´ parking zone
Prices per hour: Weekdays: 08-18 – DKK 19,-, 18-23 – DKK 13,-, 23-08 – DKK 5,-
Saturday: 00-08 – DKK 5,-, 08-17 – DKK 19,-, from 17 – FREE
Are there female dorms?
Yes. We have dorms that can be booked by everyone, and we have dorms that are reserved for women only. Simply select "For All" or "For Women" when you make your reservation.
Do you have price guarantee?
Yes, of course we do! When you book directly on our website, we guarantee that you will be getting it at the best online price.
What is the local area like?
The local area is Vesterbro, making the hostel the perfect base for experiences in Copenhagen. You are close to the city centre and in an area of Copenhagen famous for its lakes and unique urban life.

How far is it to the city centre?
Steel House Copenhagen is part of the city center with only 0.5 km to the City Hall Square and the Copenhagen Central Station.
What attractions should I see in Copenhagen?
It all depends who you are, and luckily there is something for everyone. At Steel House Copenhagen, you are within walking distance from many of the city's most popular attractions: Tycho Brahe Planetarium, Bremen Teater, Istedgade, Det Ny Teater, Wallmans Circus Building, Nordisk Film cinemas (Imperial and Palads), Tivoli's Concert Hall, Tivoli Gardens, The City Hall Square, the Meatpacking District (Kødbyen), Hard Rock Café and much more. Other popular destinations include Langelinie with The Little Mermaid and then there is the Round Tower at Købmagergade, Amalienborg Palace, Strøget, Copenhagen Opera House, Copenhagen Zoo, the Royal Danish Theatre and Nyhavn. Copenhagen offers endless opportunities for sightseeing, and if you like guided tours, you should try a canal tour and the ever popular Hop on/Hop off buses.
How do I check in?
In order to make the check in process as smooth and fast as possible, we have several ways for you to check in:
The easiest way to check in is to complete the registration form you receive by email with your booking confirmation and download our Steel House Copenhagen app. On the day of arrival, you can check in via the App and automatically get the room key on your phone. From 3 pm, you can access your room by using your phone.
We also have self-service check in counters for your convenience. Make sure to fill out the registration form you get with your booking confirmation to make the check in process as fast as possible.
If all of this sounds too tricky or somethings goes wrong, just ask a member of the staff and we will be happy to help you.

When can i check in/out?
Check in is from 3 pm; check out is at 11 am the latest. Please ask the staff if you want a late check out. Charges apply.
Can i get a late check out?
Please ask the staff if you want a late check out. We can’t guarantee a late check out, but we will do our best to help you out. Our prices for a late check out are:
Check out at 1 pm the latest: DKK 100,- per dorm bed and DKK 200,- for private rooms.
If we can’t let you check out late, we have lockers to rent for DKK 20,- in the basement.
Can I get an early check in?
Unfortunately that’s not possible; check in is from 3 pm. If you arrive early, we have lockers to store your luggage in the basement for DKK 20,-
CAN I CHECK IN LATE?
Yes. You can check in yourself and go to your room at any time after 3 pm. We also have staff present 24/7 to help.
DO YOU PROVIDE BED LINEN AND TOWEL?
Yes. Bed linen and towel is included in the price. If you stay with us for more than 4 days, we will provide you with fresh bed linen and towel.
You can also choose to get a fresh towel for DKK 25,- and have your bed made with fresh linen for DKK 50,- at any time - just let us know.
Is there an age restriction?
Guests under 18 years old are not allowed to sleep in our shared dorms. When booking a private room, you have to be accompanied by minimum one adult over 18 years old. People under the age of 18 can stay with us, but only in a private room and with a written permission letter from their parents or guardian – please contact us before you make your reservation.
Do you provide laundry facilities?
Yes, we have a self-service laundry room with both washing machines and dryers for DKK 20,- each.
Is smoking allowed at Steel house Copenhagen?
No! Steel House Copenhagen is 100% smoke-free. There is a DKK 1000,- smoking fee so please go outside to the street if you want to smoke.
Do you have handicap accessible rooms?
Of course; if you wish to book a handicap accessible room, please contact us.
Can i rent a bike with you?
Yes, you can rent a bike with us for DKK 125,- for the entire day, DKK 75,- for 6 hours or DKK 50,- for 3 hours.

Can i make a reservation and pay upon arrival?
No, unfortunately that is not possible. Depending on your reservation your credit card will either be charged when you make your reservation or 48 hours before the arrival date. For more information please see our Terms and Conditions of Sale here.
What credit/debit cards are accepted?
VISA, MasterCard, JCB, American Express and Dankort are accepted.
Will i be able to stay in the same room as my friends?
If you are booking beds in a dorm for more than one person, we can’t guarantee that you’ll be placed in the same room. If you want to be sure to stay in the same room, please book a private room.
Do you provide lockers?
Yes. We provide lockers in the basement for DKK 20,- to store your luggage. In the dorms, each guest has their own locker. We highly recommend that you keep all of your belongings locked up. Steel House Copenhagen is not responsible for any loss of valuables. You can use your own padlock to lock it. If you don’t have a padlock, you can buy one at the front desk.
Can friends and family visit me at Steel house Copenhagen?
Friends & family of guests staying at Steel House Copenhagen are welcome in the bar and public areas, but not allowed to go to the dorms/rooms, pool & gym.
ARE PETS ACCEPTED IN STEEL HOUSE COPENHAGEN?
Pets are not allowed except guide dogs. In that case, a private room must be booked.
Do you provide hairdryers?
Yes. All of our rooms and dorms have a hairdryer.
Does every room have a private bathroom?
Yes. All our rooms and dorms have a private bathroom. In our dorms, the bath and toilet is separated so you can use the toilet while someone is using the shower and vice versa.
Do you provide toiletries such as shampoo and shower gel?
All bathrooms have a shampoo/shower gel dispenser by Nordic Ecolabel.
What type of power sockets are in the hostel?
We have standard European power sockets running on 220 V and are compatible with type C and F. Please bring your own adapter if you need one or buy one from our front desk for DKK 75,-. All beds have their own power socket with an USB port available.
Can i bring my own food and beverages?
You are welcome to bring your own food and enjoy it in the designated areas, but not in the rooms/dorms. Furthermore, you are not allowed to consume your own alcoholic beverages anywhere in the house so please get your drinks from the bar – we risk losing our alcohol license so please respect that.
Do you serve breakfast?
We offer a Grab'n'go breakfast bag from 6.30 am to 11 am (or until the last bag is sold) for DKK 49,-.
If you have breakfast included you will of course be guaranteed your breakfast bag until 11 am.
Not in the mood for classic breakfast? No worries, we also sell a selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads and snacks at all times.
Do you have baby cots or extra beds?
Unfortunately, we don't.
At what time is the pool and gym open? how much does it cost?
Pool is open from 6 am to 10 pm and it is DKK 20,- for two hours. Go swim!
Gym is open from 6 am to 10 pm and it is DKK 20,- for two hours. Work out!
